Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding hospital offering acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has a Part-time (.5) Infection Control Nurse position available. Candidates must be available to work a varied schedule.
The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
Organizes, manages, documents and maintains the employee health and infection control programs.
Educates staff in proper infection surveillance, prevention and control practices, policies and procedures.
Conducts inservices as needed related to infection surveillance, prevention and control.
As needed, provides assessment, nursing care and evaluation of nursing care; provides evidence-based care.
Coordinates and delegates direct care, planning, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions for designated shift.
Ensures consistent use of psychiatric nursing process in providing quality care.
