The Assistant Vice President of the Pediatric Specialty service line for Orlando Health Medical Group serves in a dyad partnership with the Managing Physician of the Pediatric Specialty service line and has a direct reporting relationship to the Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of the Orlando Health Medical Group. The dyad leadership model is comprised of an administrative and specialty physician leader, both whom share equal responsibility for the effective management of the physician practices including the oversight of employed physicians, as well as the successful implementation of strategic, operational, and financial initiatives.
Essential Functions Include (but are not limited to):
Maintain a culture of trust between administration and providers
Demonstrate visibility with the providers and the ability to facilitate smooth communication between clinicians and operating executives through operational transparency
Work closely with the COO/VP of Operations and others on physician manpower plan to continuously identify recruitment opportunities and needs
Take ownership/leadership in aligning and recruiting physicians that best fit the organization and needs of the community
Drive process improvements to deliver consistent and standardized daily practice operations designed to improve clinical services, operational outcomes, patient throughput, and safety
Manage financial performance to ensure performance is meeting or exceeding to budget goals

Pediatric Physician Practices:
The medical group and Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children recognize the specialized clinical needs of pediatric patients and support them through a large and diverse group of pediatric specialists. We directly employ 91 physicians and 58 APPs representing 26 unique specialties in the Pediatric Service Line.
Physician Associates participated in a Medicare Accountable Care Organization (ACO) as well as several commercial shared savings programs. They consistently achieve high-performing quality and value benchmarks, receiving a 98.4 percent quality score mostly recently from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has 156 beds. Caring for the patients at APH, are 130 pediatric subspecialty physicians and 65 advanced practice professionals in these specialties: critical care, endocrinology, nephrology, urology, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, pediatric surgery, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, pulmonology, genetics, developmental pediatrics, neurology, emergency medicine, radiology, otolaryngology, anesthesiology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery and craniomaxillofacial surgery.

Master's degree in Business, Health Administration or related healthcare field is required.
Minimum 8 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting, with five years of prior experience in healthcare leadership as a healthcare administrator. Pediatric ambulatory background is strongly preferred.
