Rhode Island Hospital, with the state’s only Level I Trauma Center, is seeking an Assistant Clinical Manager. This position is a first-line manager who, under general supervision of the Clinical Manager, directs nursing care and performs administrative activities within an ambulatory Hematology, Oncology setting, and Hemophilia Thrombosis Center while providing leadership and support to staff.
In this position, you will develop department policies and procedures, participate in interviews, recommend candidates and orient and evaluate professional nursing staff. You will also recommend corrective action if appropriate, identify training and development needs and recommend environmental/technological/personnel resources necessary to meet needs. Other duties include assisting in assessments of quality care by documenting compliance to care standards, recommending corrective action and monitoring effectiveness of interventions. You may also participate in department-based researched projects and assume management duties in the absence of the Clinical Manger.
Graduation from an approved school of nursing; BS in Nursing is preferred
Minimum of three years of relevant experience with demonstrated clinical and leadership skills
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island
Strong interpersonal skills for communicating within and outside of the hospital
Supervisory experience planning, directing and evaluating staff performance
Demonstrated knowledge of providing care to patients, with consideration of the aging process, human development stages and cultural patterns
