Perform a variety of routine duties in a hospita l clinic to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and trea tment of patients;set up and clean examination rooms.
Work P erformed
The CMA/RMA in RadOnc/Sarcoma will be cross-trained to work in three different areas within the unit:
1. Cli nicCMA- responsibilities include rooming patients with full intake inclu ding vital signs, medication reconciliation, falls, psychosocial and an y other clinic relevant screening, and hand off to nurse/APP/MD. Additi onal responsibilities include assisting with clinic procedures (biopsies , scopes),chaperone internal exams, suture/staple removal, instrument se t up and cleaning, inventory stock of exam rooms, scheduling, answering phones and assisting patients within designated scope.
2.Alcove infusion/treat ment CMA- responsibilities include bring patients to area, full intake, daily weight checks, orthostatic vital signs, phlebotomy as needed,wound care/suture removal, receiving and checking in inpatients for treatment ,removing PIVs, comfort care- assistance to restroom/food/water- cleani ng rooms, stocking supplies, transporting patients as needed
3.HDR/Brachytherapy procedural area CMA- responsibilities include bringing patients to area with full procedural intake, assisting patient with pre-op needs, assis ting RNs with anesthesia recovery with vital signs, foley maintenance, c omfort caredischarging pt, assisting in procedural suite (setting up ins truments,pre-cleaning, assisting nurse with vitals, moving patient), ass isting with instrument cleaning and transport to/from sterile processing in Duke North.

PATIENT EXPERIENCE, DUKE HOSPITAL LAYOUT STERILE TECHNIQUE
High School diploma required
Six months of health care experience required.
