Infusion Clinic is one of the Specialty Clinics in Ambulatory Care. This clinic provides nursing care to Veterans age ranging from young adults through geriatrics with a variety of disorders to include but not limited to, Cancer, neurological and Rheumatological diseases, hydration and transfusion needs, evaluation, testing and surgical procedures for insertion of PICC and Port a Cath lines for infusion and long term usage. Duties include, but are not limited to: The Registered Nurse works in tandem with providers(MD, Pharm D, Nutritionist, other team members, community partners) providing care, assessment, education and support of Veterans in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness based on use of the nursing process. Nursing care is provided through systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment and evaluation of human responses to actual. or potential health problems through such services as; care management and coordination, health teaching, and wellness promotion, collaboration/communication with another services/facilities/PACT. Executes medical care including but not limited to; education regarding treatment, care, stress reduction nutrition, pain, and administration Chemotherapeutic agents/hydration/lVIG/blood products, Insertion of IV catheters, intravesical oncology and immunotherapy treatments, sterile procedures, access of ports, constant assessment for possible changes during administration of medications, phlebotomy, injections, secure messaging, encounter/clinical reminder completion, and other duties as needed. Possess an understanding of clinical treatment modalities, organization and administration of the VA healthcare delivery systems, educational principles, clinical information systems, accreditation and regulatory standards, and program development. Practices good customer service in all work activities. Must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. Makes caring for the veteran his/her priority while in the work setting and demonstrates customer service principles in all aspects of work. S/he must demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team in all assignments. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
