Carilion Clinic in Southern Virginia’s Blue Ridge Region provides care for 26 counties and over 1 Million Virginians. The region is also home to many colleges and universities with a total enrollment of over 170,000. In addition, there are many other young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 with age-specific psychiatric needs. We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our patients, their families, and our communities. As the Director of Young Adult Services in Psychiatry, you will help develop and coordinate a care program targeting these populations. We are looking to build upon our current clinical capabilities to provide innovative care as we seamlessly blend treatment, research, and education using public and private support networks and intensive programs. We offer adults and adolescents both outpatient and inpatient care at specialized facilities located in southwest Virginia. Carilion Clinic Psychiatric facilities include 61 adult beds (across two facilities) and 16 adolescent beds and multiple ambulatory sites.
The Director of Young Adult Service in Psychiatry will be responsible for helping guide and coordinate efforts across multiple Departments that exist in the Departments of Emergency Medicine, Family and Community Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
This is a faculty position that will also have protected time for education and clinical administration and appointment at the appropriate academic level to the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5 years of leadership in a similar capacity is preferred
Desired candidates are Board certified in General Psychiatry with a focus on patients one or more disorders of relevance to this age range (for example: eating disorders, personality disorders, addictive disorders).
