Certified Nurse Midwife licensed to practice in the State of New Hampshire
Responsibilities
The Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) midwiferyteam is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our collaborative practice in the beautiful Upper Valley of New Hampshire. We are eager to recruit talented providers who will help us create a more dynamic, inclusive, and innovative team.
In this role, you will be providing full-scope midwifery care to individuals with low and moderate-risk obstetrical needs. Inpatient care is provided in the Birthing Pavilion and involves intrapartum and postpartum care. You will also provide gynecological care in the ambulatory setting. Coverage includes 12-hour shifts in the Birthing Pavilion and 8-hour shifts in our three outpatient clinics.
Our division includes 11 midwives, 6 clinic-based APRNs, 13 generalist physicians, and 4 maternal-fetal medicine specialists. In addition, we have a subdivision of urogynecology and GYN oncology. The hospital does about 1,700 births each year, and the midwifery service attends about one-third of the births. We provide full, in-house 24-hour service for our patients. The midwives are an integral part of this academic medical center, and we provide education for midwifery students, residents, and medical students. We are also committed to increasing the footprint for midwifery-based research.
Since 1983 the Midwives of DHMC have been providing high-quality, safe, full-scope midwifery care with excellent outcomes to the families in our community. During pregnancy and birth, we are committed to using our knowledge of the body’s normal processes to help achieve an empowered and joyful birth. We utilize evidence-based practices to provide skillful, low-intervention, compassionate care within an academic tertiary care setting. We are committed to teaching the next generation of maternity care providers the ways to optimally support the normal, physiologic process of labor and birth.
If you are a seasoned midwife and want to advance your career, we want to hear from you! We have an engaged group of providers invested and committed to optimal patient outcomes, and we are looking to add an experienced CNM with excellent clinical skills to our team.
