Position Summary: The IBU Clinical Informatics Specialist is assigned in partnership with IBU leadership to a specific healthcare site(s) to partner closely with the entire healthcare team, including healthcare operational leadership, to be responsible for functional leadership and day to day operational support for clinical technologies used at the site(s). This role serves as a liaison for system technology initiatives for all non-physician and non-APP clinical disciplines and IS&T as it related to clinical technologies. The IBU Clinical Informaticist is a clinical technology, data, and outcome driven leader with expertise in usability, operational workflow analysis, processes, and design who guides and collaborates with care teams to develop and optimize the clinical technology environment using lean principles, workflow analysis, heuristics, and best practices. Streamlined and efficient documentation workflows and industry best practices. The IBU Clinical Informaticist integrates nursing/ healthcare science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in clinical practice. Work situations include intermediate to complex analytical, clinical, and business problem-solving and solution development that require independent decision-making, leadership, cross-team collaboration, project management, change management, public speaking, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position is also responsible for staying current with evidence-based Informatics practices and providing leadership and direction for incorporating clinical practices into various clinical technologies. Clinical technologies supported include, but are not limited to Epic, unified communication platforms, telehealth, RFID, PACS (McKesson), biomedical devices, virtual health, alert and alarm management, decision-support, robotics, and other clinically focused systems as required based on assigned location(s).
Minimum Requirements: 3 years clinical experience in a patient care setting with 1 year leadership, managerial experience 3 years informatics, information services experiences at a large Independent Delivery Network Consideration may be given to candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred Active RN or Clinical License Informatics or Technology Certification, e.g., CAHIMS, CPHIMS, RN-BC preferred Epic proficiency/accreditation/certification, e.g., ClinDoc, Orders, Grand Central, ASAP, Beacon, Ambulatory, MyChart preferred
