SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Located 15 minutes from Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, the Penn State Health Medical Group – Palmyra office seeks a patient-focused Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team! This office handles an array of specialties including Family Medicine/Primary Care, Heart and Vascular, Orthopedics, Colorectal, Dermatology, and Obstetrics. Functioning during the weekday, the anticipated schedule will be a 4-day/10-hour shift, ranging from 7a to 5:30p with occasional Saturday rotations throughout the year.
The Licensed Practical Nurse hired into this position will be expected to complete the following duties: room patients, take vital signs, medication reconciliation, perform phlebotomy and injections, assist providers with in-house procedures, and complete different administrative duties such as prior authorizations and monitoring the E-message pool. During the orientation process, the LPN will be expected to complete an 8-hour vaccine education course.
The ideal Licensed Practical Nurse will be a team player who is able to efficiently multi-task throughout the day. Great bedside manner is also expected as you will be handling diverse populations, ranging from obstetrics/pediatrics to geriatric patients. On average, the office supports 150/patients a day, so a fast-paced work ethic is strongly encouraged.
The ideal LPN for this position will possess exceptional customer service skills while working as part of a team. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
High School Diploma
Currently licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to completion of orientation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One (1) year experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to stand & sit constantly; walk frequently
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-50 lbs. occasionally
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-75 lbs. occasionally
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping
