The Optum is seeking a Surgical/Operating Room Circulating RN to join their team full-time to work in an ambulatory surgery center in Seattle, WA. We are fully accredited and Medicare approved. Our surgery center offers a comprehensive range of cosmetic & reconstructive plastic surgery services. We are a solid team that feels like family with five talented Plastic Surgeons. Specific Schedule: Full Time; 4/10's, Days TBD
The RN’s primary role is to provide direct the nursing care of the patient in the operating room. The RN’s communication, conduct and performance should support the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming a High Performance Organization
Scope of Practice: Circulator nurses can assume multiple roles depending on the needs of the medical staff within a ASC environment. Here are some examples of their job responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
Acting as an advocate for the patient before, during and after surgery
Act as the admitting RN in the surgery center (when needed)
Monitoring and recording the patient's vitals pre-operation
Preparing the surgical tools and materials that the surgical team will need during the operation
Recording every aspect of an operation, including the names and titles of those performing the surgery, the tools used, the amount of anesthetic a patient received and how long the surgery took
Advising the surgical team on potential harm to the patient during surgery
Assisting surgeons during the surgery if needed
Escorting patients to the recovery room post-operation
Cleaning the operating room post-operation
Accounting for all tools used during the procedure
Coordinate patient care intra-operatively
Process operative paperwork
Perform circulating and scrub duties
Coordinate transition from surgery to recovery
Recover post-operative patient
Maintain the database on breast implants following standards
Coordinate quality assurance projects
Administer injections & oral meds following the plan of care and/or physician orders
Stock, order, maintain supplies according to the policies and procedures established by the Practice Management Dept. and Central Supply and prepare/stock surgical areas as needed
Practice safety and OSHA regulations in regards to biohazard & non-biohazard waste
Understand and deliver quality customer service consistent with the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming a High Performance Organization
Follow established policies and procedures related to the position
Meet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept
Participate and contribute in a team-based environment
Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines
Follow HIPPA regulations
Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations
Maintain a team supportive attendance record
Communication, conduct and dress portray a professional quality at all times

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Current Washington State license
ACLS certification
1+ years of experience working as a Circulating RN

Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for Washington residents is $40.83 to $56.53 per hour.
